In the Night Farm…Your Ride is Here.

Nearly Time!

The Owyhee Canyonlands ride is a major event for endurance riders around here.  Five days of endurance riding in Idaho’s high desert?  Yes, please!  I look forward to it all year, every year — especially this year, because my camping situation just got a lot more comfortable.  Lookie what I got!

It’s nothing fancy, but it’s exactly what I needed — heat/AC, electricity, kitchen, bed, shower.  Sheer luxury after years of setting up camp in my horse trailer at every ride!

Even better, Ironman will be coming along for the first couple days.  I think we’ll both volunteer at the vet check on Day 1 because the trail for that day offers most of its water from the Snake River, and while Consolation normally doesn’t hesitate to drink natural water, I’ve ridden that trail often enough to know that she simply refuses so much as a sip from the river.  The weather is supposed to be pretty warm, she has some winter coat coming in already, and I just don’t want to risk dehydrating her on the first day.

So, Consolation and I will probably try for 50’s on at least 3 of the remaining 4 days.  We’ll just play it by ear and see what we can see.

Now that’s what I call camping! 🙂 I am so spoiled by our living quarters trailer-I won’t camp without it anymore. You will really enjoy the luxury of a shower! Have fun at the ride!

  6. Love the camper! I’m jealous you get to go to that ride, I know a few girls from up here in Alberta have hauled down to it before. Can’t wait to hear an update.
